Apparently, Sam was in New York City, last night, regarding an Oceana event. The TATS blog has photos and is the first to report on the matter. I'll revise
the entry whenever additional details are revealed (either by here or elsewhere). Meanwhile, enjoy the photos.

My husband and I were invited to this Oceana gathering this past Monday evening in New York because we are new Ocean Council members. We have been extremely
impressed with Oceana staff-they are serious about solving problems, good at targeting certain issues and following through, and at the same time are gracious,
interesting and fun to be with. When the invitation with Sam's name came across my...
Wow! You sound like you go through events like this very easily. I would've been a drooling, blithering idiot. And would've gotten that annoying
facial tic that I get when I'm really nervous. I'll have to find the photo of me at a table with Patrick Stewart, trying to look pensive and attentive
while putting my elbows on the table and holding my lip down with my folded hands.
Anyway.......
DC, I'm not sure what Livejournal is, but go ahead and link.
There are so many other things I could have described about that night (and I'll probably wake up in the night and remember tidebits that were
interesting), but when you are suddenly faced with Sam or similar figure whom you admire, your mind kind of turns to mush. Suffice it to say that the glitter
of NYC is not my normal ...
Wow, thanks for this wonderful account! And Linus--I didn't know that about him--very interesting! I'm so glad you got to talk to Sam about his
upcoming play--excited and nervous, eh? I think that is what keeps him young-his zest for life!
sounds like a wonderful evening. Actually it sounds like it would be even without the "beautiful" people! Did he feel the show slanted to the left?
New York is liberal so portraying it in a conservative manner would seem off in some ways.
Hey, not every New Yorker is a liberal, but I agree, Kpeal. Heh. Incidentally, did you know that you can actually be a registered Conservative party in New
York? I didn't know that.
I'm curious to what Roache said about the show's leftism, though. Oh, yes.
At least, it gives me hope or more respect for Roache, if he's acknowledging it. Which makes sense as Cutter is becoming an American Traditionalist, isn't he?
I can't exactly remember the conversation except that my husband was the one who brought up the premier episode and how Cutter had tried to present a different view from McCoy. That got us talking about the show's more liberal bias (which Linus may have acknowledged). I mainly recall him getting excited about last night's show, which we haven't watched yet. Speaking of Mr. Roache, here is an article from The New York Post....
dang computer -posted the blank page for me. Certainly, I realize not all New Yorkers are liberal. All towns work that way. Not all folk have the same politically leaning. (And why would you want to register a conservative, anyway ?!?!? ok. Just joking there..) My grandad was a social democrat in a very small conservative Utah town.
