My 360 was probably banned and I'm also getting re-directed to the same page when I click "Request a Repair". I don't really care if I'm banned since I rarely connect to Xbox Live, I just don't want to lose the installation feature. The fact that your unmodded console can still request a repair normally just furthers my suspicions.

Thanks for the method... I've been waiting to check if I've been banned but I haven't been home. Thank God for this or else I would've had a bricked hard drive. Only had my xbox for 1 month but I've had it unplugged for the last 2 weeks and it seems I'm banned too according to the error page. What a waste lol...

Do I have to fill in my real name, adress etc, or could I just type in whatever? I don't want to actually order anything if I'm not banned and it goes through or something, heh. And does this work for europeans too?

Degenerat3 replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Not sure if people who got that same error have had their 360 banned as I haven't gone online since yesterday and haven't gotten the message on the 360 yet. If someone who has gone online and been banned can check the warranty page then we can know for sure.

Awww hell. I have two 360s on my list of stuff. One works (non modded) the other doesn't (modded). Modded one was connected to live earlier today and wasn't banned. Haven't connected back to live yet but...well....now I'm not going to connect it back to live.

Anyone that hasn't been banned mind checking if they don't get the message?

Yes. For the good 360 I can go and register for a repair. It doesn't matter that the warranty is gone, nor that the 3 year warranty is gone too. IT works. The modded, that is most likely banned (not connecting it to live). Error.

Cybore replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
Wouldn't be surprised if this gets patched later on. Those with modded consoles should check it out while you still can if you want to retain your install feature. kinda suprised considering I only played like 5 backups which checked out find with abgx.

magusdraco replied 1 month, 2 weeks ago
...uh...about 10 now. The first 5 all checked out perfectly (full dvd game crc check and all). I got lazy after the game crc check started taking 80 minutes instead of 40 and didn't do that for my next 5 or so games. Whatever. I'm glad I have a backup 360.

QUOTE(toddgei @ Nov 10 2009, 02:44 PM) I just checked and I can no longer install games to my HDD so avoid doing this if you dont want to cripple your drive. other than that it seems okay, xbox live in Australia is worthless because of lag so I am not concerned if I dont have access to it, I will miss downloading from the arcade though but I guess I will just rely on my PS3 now for that side of things (even though XBLA is...

Sorry for the name calling tactical, it's just that you guys need to understand like someone has already said, if you are banned you will be banned even if you wait for a new FW, it's a server side ban. Think of the Matrix, when neo got unplugged from the Matrix itself lol.. Once he got unplugged there was no way to get back unless he bought a new 360.

Not sure about that as I didnt check afterwards, suffice to say I was in warranty and could request a repair just before I flashed back to stock and tried to connect..... banned The advice I am giving my previous customers is "if you played backup online after you accepeted the Oct 28th update then expect to be banned, regardless of what you did to avoid the ban. If you just have to know then understand you will lose your HDD install...

Ok so this test isn't 100% guaranteed to work or maybe it doesn't work at all. What I've seen so far is that only modded consoles are getting this error and unmodded ones don't so maybe consoles that have been flagged are getting the error. What we still need to know is if the banned consoles are getting the same or any error.

QUOTE(blizzard122189 @ Nov 7 2009, 12:45 AM) It is safe to use the old HDD as long as your old machine has not received the ban message yet. Even if it is banned, as long as you have not connected to actually get the message and the NAND flag you are all good. If you connect then you are screwed, and you have to get a new modded machine if you want to switch your profile back and forth. Sounds good. I'll get a new arcade...

QUOTE(AnimeCommander @ Nov 13 2009, 09:39 PM) If you're flagged for ban by any "check", then no new firmware can avoid it. You are banned server side. The box is banned no matter what you do to it after the fact Word
