Thread: S&W 27-3 range report

Well I got to take it out today for the first time. It took a few rounds before I was doing OK with it. This target is just before I finished shooting. I have to say its one amazing gun. Unless your are in fear for your life, the N frame is the only way to shoot .357 magnums. I was amazed at how little recoil there is out of my 28 even with Buick killer loads. Nice group.

I was issued a S&W model 28 "Highway Patrolman" initially when I was first hired in 1980. They were great revolvers. It didn't last long. We had swivel holsters and it pulled my pants down ( I was 5'11" 160 lbs.). My Chief "bit into" the Ruger even up swap period back then (only because PSP went to the Ruger Security Six).
