I've tried to run the setup as Administrator and also disabling UAC control. Error is always the same. Looking at detail.txt log of the installation I only found this (which doesn't help really much) 09:43:41 Slp: ...

please use the search function of the forum or your such engine next time before asking. old msdn thread It's not my case... I've also slipstreamed the installation in order to have SP1 at setup time. I've used "Run as Administrator" and "Compatibility Options"... I've already VS2008. Any other comment on how to use Google?

I believe I ran into this issue, since I was adding a local group to the permissions for the SQL Server and Analysis Services and not just the logged on user.  Another, UNTESTED, ...

Windows 7 disables the administrator account and calls it something else.  While installing from a service account on the network, seems this error occurs anyhow too so it couldn't be verified.  Smells/sounds like a permissions error though. Event 10010 (pid 2648) cannot be restarted - Application SID does not match Conductor SID.. Oddly, the same install works on a Server 2008 R2 ...
