Hello is this service necessary and/or is it safe practice to have it running? Thanks in advance.

Hi, Full text service is an optional service of SQL Server. It allows application to provide full text queries against character based data. If your applications is not using full text functionality, you can disable the service. Also I don't see any risk in leaving the service running. Would the 'Use full-text indexing' option in the database's 'Properties' -> 'File' section be in relation and/or in relation with using the 'FullText Search' service? Hi, Full text is always full text indexing is always enabled for a database and it can be disabled. Yes there is realation between this option and the full text service.
