Thread: SIGNED COPIES OF JDATE AVAILABLE NOW FOR A LIMITED TIME! SEE DETAILS!
Started 1 month, 1 week ago by David Wong
All right, let's see how this goes. The holidays are here and lots of people ask me for signed copies for Christmas gifts or whatever, so from now until 12/31/09 I will be offering signed copies of JDatE for sale . I will also sign your existing copies but you have to pay for shipping. Prices are as follows In the USA: My costs for a signed copy shipped to the USA--book, envelope, ...
When you send money to paypal you have a little box where you explain what you're sending the money for. Just say you want a signed copy of JDATE and put your mailing address. Or if you forget to do that, just follow up with an email to that same address ( dwong187@gmail.com ) letting me know what you want and where I should send it. If you've never used paypal before there are easy to follow ...
Man the idea of sending one of the rare versions through the mail scares the crap out of me, but it's your risk. I mean if the hardcover version gets destroyed in a mail machine you can get a new one. If the Cafe Press version gets ruined, there are no more of those in the universe. The Permuted one will cost you a hundred bucks or whatever. So it's up to you.
If I drove for seven and a half hours and waited at the post office for you in a totally stalker like fashion, would you sign the thing in person? I really wish I had gotten the Cafe Press version at the time. I do have a permuted press version, though. Oh, and probably an old palm pilot doc version from before it was finished, too. Somewhere. But you can't sign my palm... well, maybe.
Will you be drawing little doodles next to your signature this time around, and if so, will a doodle's awesomeness be proportional to the amount of extra money we pay?

I'll take orders right up through 12/31. Then I'll edit the first post in this thread to say I'm cutting it off. The reason I've stopped updating the website is because I've been doing this instead. That's fine, I knew that going in from last time that doing signed books is kind of like taking on a part time job (order books, sign, package, print labels, go to post office, wait in line,...
Okay! Well you never really answered my question about sending american cash in the mail with my copy... but I'm just going to pretend that you said yes and go ahead and do it! In fact I am leaving for the post office right now. And by right now I mean in like an hour or so.
So I ended up going the Paypal route after all, borrowing someone else's account. I made a note to make it out to "Nick", my fourteen-year old. I promised him one after he got cut short reading the online version, so I figured I'd go one better and get him a signed copy. Anyway, this is a kid who we've always had trouble getting to read anything he wasn't...
Ah ok, because I really want this book but I have no money right now, so I'm kind of banking on money received from Christmas gifts will help me get it!
Payment sent. Not really worth posting til after Christmas though - it'll not get here til mid January anyway. Sorry it can't be the full $50, but I lose on currency conversion each way.
