Horrible decision. Not sure what your point is. Doesn't matter who the coach is, going for 2 in the 3rd Q is an atrocious decision 100% of the time. This wreaks of sarcasm.

I think Field's point is was that Sheets was basically calling Ryan incompetent and clueless because of HIS decision to go for it early and now BB does the same thing.....of course its an "atrocious" decision but Sheets basically called it ...

Okay, so in the event that you are being serious, how is it a dumb decision to go for 2 to make it a 7 point game? If they went for the extra point, Miami would've been able to take the lead by scoring a touchdown + extra point. They needed to go for 2 to make it a 1 possession game.
Sparano is very weird. He's had plenty of genius-ly coached games, and I've seen him look completely atrocious at others. Like as bad as it gets. Mind boggling decisions and game management. And I've seen his time management as pathetic as it gets too. He's a weird guy. Two extremes for him.

Completely missed the point (like Kapp said). Point is....he went for it in the 3rd. Sheets (and you) say never do it before 4th....stupid not to know this. Well, now a HOF coach did it too....so maybe we'll be ok with Rexy afterall. I guess I'm still missing your point. Sheets didn't say that Ryan has been great except made one horrible call by going for 2. There is a ton of criticism about him, that being one. ...
And, btw, I was watching the Miami game. Miami down, so they started calling TO's with 4 minutes left. Glad to see there's SOME coaches that aren't braindead slobs. And, of course, I'm sure it has something to do with working for Parcells. Some of the best time mgmt coaches in the NFL were from the Parcells tree. Yet, he made a moronic move by going for it on 4th and 15. Why are you not all over that? ...
The league wide average on the 2 point play is 51% compared to 96% for the single point, but you have to take several things into consideration that would increase that %. 1. most attempts are in a critical game winning or tying situation. 2. Included in this 51% are rookie QBs that lack experience and confidence, and just plain bad teams that have troubles even converting 3rd downs. In the Mia/NE game you have a 10yr. QB and a 12yr.
