I have been using this driver pack with remarkable success on an X-Fi Elite pro. I have almost no sound glitches at all. I have only encountered one or two and these errors occurred under heavy multi-tasking. I do have a few questions about it though. 1. What is the Advantage of this pack verses the WDM one? 2. Is the absence of the what you hear option due to this driver being such an older ...
Just installed. No issues for me thus far. In all the dialog boxes in Windows 7 it says it is a wdm driver - although I don't think this is a problem. I am using an xtremeMusic If you're a bit slow like me to clarify the channel assignment instructions even further for 5.1 users. Open the THX panel. change your setup from 5.1 to 7.1. Using channel assignment/reassign - click the speakers in ...
I installed the software. Sound is crystal clear. Now the problem is that none of the software works?? It is telling me that "no audio device that supports this device function is present". I have an elite pro sound system, windows 7 x64, 8 gb 1066 ram, AMD 6000 x 2 3.0 GHz CPU, 1 tera hard drive, geforce 9800gtx, and a Ausu m4 nvida chip motherboard. So can someone please tell me why this...
Well, I sort of solved the problem!! I had to uninstall all creative from my c:/ drive/ registry and drivers. Now I have everything working ish!! My problems: There seems to be no 3d midi? is that by design?? The sound "though working" sounds wobbly, you when your freezing cold and you talk ...that wobbly. Apart from that ..everything seems ok. I must thank the auther for this driver ...
Wow, I knew 3rd party drivers were out there but I never got around to giving them a shot. After dealing with the horrible Windows 7 beta drivers for far too long, I made the switch. All the noise is gone! Thank you!
Excellent driver, working fine so far and not a crackle or pop in sight. You should be working for Creative. Just curious, why can't the following be enabled and is there any way to get these features. Thanks! Decoder, DVD Audio and WhatUHear are not available and cannot be enabled in the driver included.
After waiting for ages for Asus to release W7 drivers for my onboard sound (CMedia 65xx) I finally decided to get a soundcard. Having had SoundBlaster back in the days, I found a used but as new, X-Fi Platinum for not much money. Should've checked the Interwebs beforehand I guess.. Nothing but cracks and misfires. Stumbled upon Daniels drivers and decided to try them before dumping Creative for ...
Well this works, in the sense that my sound is no longer distorted by crackling, shreeks, etc. However, now the IO console does not work at all. It seems that only the orginal creative drivers will get it to work, but then the crackles and distortion come back. Does anyone know any other solutions for the elite pro version of the x-fi cards? I know working sound is possible, now it's ...

Yes once the file has unzipped, all of the seperate installations are broken down by folders. Just navigate to the THX Console folder, and run the setup executable within.
Thats the thing...I did uninstall every Creative piece of SW. When I attempted to install Daniels package, it told me that it could not detect a supported device.
