Thread: SBC 350 with 454 TBI Upgrade

Started 3 months, 1 week ago by dave w
I upgraded to a 454 TBI upgrade several months ago. I thought I'd share the pictures of the upgrade. I have a 93 GMC pickup. I decided to use a 93 454 TBI with Police 350 injectors (17084327). The 93 454 TBI uses the same new style TPS like my old 350 TBI. The adapter plate is available from http://tbiparts.com/contact.html . I bored the TBI intake, and had a "Go Fast" machine shop radius ...

The generally accepted flow of a 350 TBI is 535 CFM. The generally accepted flow of a 454 TBI is 670 CFM. The low cost option to get your current injectors to flow more is to up the fuel pressure. Adjustable fuel pressure regulators are one option to get more fuel pressure. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/JET-61500 dave w

hate to jack this thread... Dave, did they ever make a Throttle body for the 454 with provisions to hook a TV cable to them? If so do you know where I could get one? I would also need a bracket for the throttle/tv cables. I am running a 454. thanks for any help!

454's usually have turbo 400's, so to the best of my knowledge the 454 TBI never had a TV cable option. Several 454 TBI's have cruise control, which might work for TV Cable? I think if I were to have a TV Cable on a 454 TBI, I would call on the services of RV Morse Machine http://www.rvmorsemachine.com/ I think changing the 454 throttle shaft to a 4.3 / 5.0 /5.7 throttle shaft with the TV...

Is your 350 moded, with cam, headers or reprogrammed chip? I have a completly stock 89 v2500. Would doing this mod help me to make more power. I'm totaly new to the TBI world. I have been reading alot and want to improve performance for towing without tearing into the motor. My motor seem to be in great shape but needs most of the externals rebuilt or replaced. If i have to buy a new or ...
