Usually because the SATA controller is off in the BIOS. Is the drive spinning? Can you feel it vibrating?

My friend's computer has a SATA hard drive that wont come up on BIOS. He as 2 IDES HDs Master and Slave he added a SATA. I checked all conections, making sure he didnt plug it on the raid connections. Everything looks good except I wont see it on bios nor on My computer. Thanks in advance for any help....

Take a look in the bios. I can't give specifics, but, I have found them turned off by default. There will be a spot to enable it.

I think its my friend's old mobo(asus k8v se deluxe). I tested on my mobo and it show up on bios. Thank you all of those that replied.
