I see the debate rages on, with the Chan apologists still claiming he never insulted anybody, LOL...
May I remind folks of exactly what he allegedly said...

Every bit as titillating as Chan's remarks about Joubert were his ...
Patrick Chan needs a crash course in diplomacy---fast. According to what I recall of Chan's original comments, he most certainly did insult Yagudin
andKulik, as well as Joubert. I find it hilarious that this little up-and-coming skater has the audacity to trash the very skaters (meaning Alexei and Ilia)
who are responsible for pushing the sport to the levels it has recently achieved. What a ...
Never mind diplomacy, he needs a crash course in reality! I don't mind him not being politically correct. I do mind that he seems to be living in some
weird alternate universe...

Q: Johnny, I can't wait for the season to begin because I'm having Johnny withdraws right now. You deserved to be at the World Championships. U.S.
Figure Skating robbed fans of an awesome performance by not naming you to the team. My question is about Patrick Chan and Brian Joubert. Are you familiar with
their war of words? I think Patrick pretty much said that ...
Love that answer!!!!....and from Johnny Weir, no less. What a hoot! I'm willing to bet Patrick Chan ticked off a goodly number of people with his brash
talk. In a way I think it's funny that Chan would mouth off against Brian, complaining that Joubert is a braggart, when Chan is so blatant about doing the
very same thing. Who does he think he is? The new god of skating? LOL I'm glad Johnny called...
I'm reading that Brian Joubert is going to use Alexei's "Overcome" music ("Ancient Lands") as his free skate this season.
May I just say that I think this is a really, really, really bad idea, LOL?
Laurie
While I can understand where you're coming from, Laurie, LOL, I can't really agree that it's totally a bad idea. I don't consider any
particular piece of music "off limits" for another skater to interpret. I'm interested to see what Brian does with this and what music cuts
he's chosen to use, what the choreography is, etc. I'm sure that there will be a hue and cry go out because he's chosed ...
I am in 100% agreement that music is never sacred. Anyone can skate to any music they want.
However, having said that, the big danger - and this is what it is with me - is that when you take on music strongly associated with one performer or one
performance, you take the huge chance that you will be directly compared to the original. Every single time I go to Skate America or Worlds or watch ...
I'm kind of surprised that Mollee is out. Looked like Ellenore wasn't even sure it wasn't her leaving and had to ask Cat for confirmation. If I had had to choose, I would have left Ashleigh and Legacy out of the finals. Especially Ashleigh, since she didn't even perform - seems kind of unfair that she gets to stay. Laurie
I feel Russell should be saved. I admire (as well as the judges opinions) on how well he adapted to substitute partners. I also agreeâ¦Kathryn and Ryan as well as Jakob and Mollee should be saved. Jakob is one of the best dancers to come along in a long time on this show. On a side noteâ¦I did not care for Kat's outfit last night⦠Linda J.
Laurie....Thanks for the synopsis of that article. It can't be any surprise to Alexei that Mishin is such a turkey and would run out on Andrei. Personally, I think it's reprehensible that a coach would leave his skater in a foreign country to deal with a dicey legal matter. It certainly left a bad impression in my mind about Mishin (not that I didn't have bad one to begin, LOL). It sure isn't the ideal way to instill the...
Modesty forbids me from mentioning that I was the first person in this thread to pick Donny as the winner. Not the best season overall. It really needed Joanna in the final because in all honesty Kelly wasn't up to it. True she danced a very creditable Argentine tango but her freestyle was a complete shambles. Mya's mistake was that throughout most of the series she danced too much within herself, only rarely breaking out of her...
