i thank my fellow posters for their thoughts on Robert having a viable movie
career after he finishes with the TWILIGHT franchise. many interesting takes
on the subject i most say. now as i said i find Robert both rather attractive
and a first rate actor. in fact i've liked him ever since i saw HARRY POTTER
AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE. so here's a follow up question- from all the celeb/fan
...
A lot of smaller films like that, especially ones financed by international studios, have their scheduling sorted a long time in advance. It's highly possible that the decision to only have How To Be released on DVD came before Pattinson became really popular. Or, that the studio knew he was really popular and put it out on a DVD-only run anyway.
Thing is, no matter how popular a franchise ...
i thank my fellow poster for his/her thoughts on why if Robert supposedly has
such a huge fan base the film he made literarly right after TWILIGHT HOW TO BE
was never theatrically released in the U.S. and went straight to dvd. i guess
producers/exhibitors in the industry have already come to the conclusion that
the hoards of screaming adolescent girls who made TWILIGHT such a box office
...
Well, i don't know about other fans but i've seen the movies where Robert stared.
I already was a fan since the Harry Potter movie. I loved "How to Be". I think it was a great movie. It kind of remembered me of "Bad mother's handbook". I think he has talent. Maybe not huge but the movies he's in are great. Okay, not box offices but still... "How to Be" is a beautiful film.
"it's not so ...
i thank my fellow poster for his/her comment that HOW TO BE is a beautiful film
and i would enjoy it. but my point wasn't whether HOW TO BE was a beautiful and
or enjoyable film. my point was this- producers/exhibitors realized already that
teen age girls have no desire to see Robert in a film unless he's playing Edward
Cullen.
Well, i think, they could lead the girls into thinking "hey! this movie has Robert Pattinson in it so come see it!". That would probably work for the first two movies maybe. But they didn't even try. I guess they missed some good profit. Teenage girls would think they would be seeing his face, therefor it would be worth it.
"it's not so much that i want to kill her...it's just...i want ...
A prediction; I'd bet -assuming he hasn't dropped out of acting to avoid the screaming hordes- in about a decade or so, he'll be lined up to take up the mantle of 007.
The Vampire who loved me?
Goldeneyes?
The Sparkling in Daylights?
From Volterra with love?
Diamond skin is forever?

How To be was a very small british film, it even went straight to dvd here. In all honesty, the british film industry isnt nearly as big as the american one, how often do you guys see british films in the cinema that arent harry potter? It doesn't mean the film is bad, i just think although there is a huge fanbase for Rob over there it would probably still be very hard to market a british film ...
I totally get what you're saying.
When I was living in England, I got to see movies like The History Boys, Sixty-Six, Starter For Ten and even Hot Fuzz that either got limited/short releases or DVD-only releases in the States.
Like I said in my first post, How To Be as a DVD-only release was probably already a given before Pattinson got big, or regardless that Pattinson had gotten big....
