Thread: Roasted garlic & brie ravioli

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by Scrubb
Roasted garlic & brie ravioli I bought these ravioli - and they are very good, but their flavour is strong. They're kind of sweet, too. What is a good sauce to go with them? (the one I made didn't work at all) I assume it needs to be very mild, but if I'm not ...

I assume it needs to be very mild Creme fraiche based, with chopped mashrooms, chopped onion and herbs, s&p.

plain butter probably will not work but if you add fresh chopped sage to the butter it should be very good. you also can try unsalted butte with sage. also some mascapone cheese with fresh tyme s&p would be interesring

A fairly bland unsalty tomato sauce might be good

Mmmm, all of those sound good - can't get 'creme fraiche' here but I could just make a light cream based sauce with the mushrooms, onions, and herbs. I wish I had some fresh sage, too. I thought about a tomato sauce but I think it would have to be garden tomatoes as they have the matching sweetness.

I was going to suggest tossing them in butter. OP and gengis, why not?

Oh, I think they'd be fine just tossed in butter - I was just looking for something that would add to them.

VINNY D to much sweet with just butter and the sweetness of the cheese and roasted garlic- which changes the flavor a lot. the sage to me gives another layer of flavor but it cuts down on excessive sweetness and blandness. its all personal taste and preference

They're kind of sweet, too. Probably because sugar or some other sweetener has been added - in which case do not add anything else to them other than a bin bag.

Um, no. Roasted garlic is sweet-ish.

The cream sauce with mushrooms and herbs sounds really yummy! I was thinking of something along those line - I would use portebello mushrooms. Your welcome - now mail me some!!! ;)
