Thread: Revision Tips

Started 4 years, 6 months ago by kazlin
Hi Gussie, As I am a great fan of crystals I read that taking a piece of Aquamarine into the exam is supposed to be helpful with exams...so I did! We'll see if it worked for me![8D] Also, our tutor told us that a bit of meditation before revision helps, you know, relaxation techniques etc. Blessings kazlin x

Joyce J Suggests: What seems to work for me is to try to break it down into bite size pieces and keep reading a bit, write down what you can remember and repeat. Do it as many times as you can and it's surprising what you can remember. I also attempt the tests on the ITEC website with varying results, sometimes it's very good, sometimes not so good . It is surprising if you keep ...

Your list is great Gussie. I agree - it's important to set yourself 'bitesize' chunks. I think the most really concentrated learning the brain can handle is 20-30 minutes and then you need to take a small break or do some thing different. But the brain is the most fantastic machine & think of all those unused little brain cells just waiting to be kicked into action. Think positive and ...

Thanks for all the useful advice, I have already put some of it into action even the Rosemary (never used it before in my life). I went into the town on Saturday morning and it took me a while to find some but I found it and then sat in the garden with my revision and had the occasional waft of it. Vicki

Hi Brilliant tips, thanks. I used rhymes, paper muscles stuck on a cardboard skeleton, loads of key things (like mitosis on the cooker hood) where i would be constantly exposed to them. I also quizzed myself silently during journeys, & of course the questions on here were invaluable. One 'tip' I haven't seen mentioned (will definitely try the question/answer cards next time but ...

Hello Thought that I would throw a few ideas in the melting pot. Some things to consider when carrying out your studies. [ul][*] Set yourself some goals for the study session, this sets the RAS into action. [*] Have everything you need at hand and avoid any distractions. [*] Study in 20 minute chunks, the adult brain can only stay focused on learning for this time. It also ...

Pnemonics Hi, one of my friends received cards or information from other members on learning muscles by Pnemonics - does anyone have this information, & if so, could you please forward it to me? I'm having difficulty trying to keep this information in my brain & need any help I can get!! Mainly I'm looking for - movements on muscles, muscles in particular parts of the body, ie: back, superficial, then back, deep, or...

Hi I am studying aromatherapy at the moment. Itec have just issued new guidelines. Has anyone else noticed that there are quite a few changes in the 2 main chemical constituents of the essential oils. My college has formally written to itec and the aromatherapy council pointing out that there some of the oils are incorrect Ie: Roman Chamomile is now 2 methylbutyl and 2 methyl propionate. These chemical constituents are actually only 1...
