Our 05 Montana we bought used has just started the mystery WILL NOT CLOSE syndrome even though it is closed perfectly and there is nothing in the track...the bell starts dinging and the driver side slider door opens up...we turn off the car, turn it back on, try manually starting the door, after about 10 or 15 minutes we end up locking the door and listening to the annoying ding the whole way ...
I saw that someone wrote they would love to start a class law suit against GM - I would be very interested in that. I have a 2005 Uplander and have had so many problems with it. The AWD had to be repaired, sliding doors repaired multiple times and still not fixed, radio and steering wheel controls fixed multiple times, had to replace all 4 tires by 20,000 miles, needed a new hub on the right side...
I bought a 2006 used chevy uplander and now understand why someone unloaded the beast. It is the worst car I've ever driven in any kind of weather. Snowing?--yikes--Rain?--hydrop lanes. No undercarriage clearance and it bottoms out all the time. And the DOORS! What a nightmare--heavy and they do not shut properly and have opened on numerous occasions while driving. The bell sounds and then whoosh...
I too own an '06 Uplander. At 53,000 miles I've had to replace front and rear brakes and now the rear brakes are screeching again. Last Sunday we loaded our daughters into the van and headed to church (a five minute drive.) When we got there the drivers side sliding door would not open. It's manual not a power slider. Flat out locked up will not budge. We had the van in a few times for a ...
We have an 05 uplander!! The worst car we have ever owned!! It just came from the dealer wednesday because of the door problem, and went back again today. We have brought in in about 5 times for the door. The sway-bar bushings have been replaced a few times too!! Consider us "IN" if anyone wants to go further for the Class Action!
I have an 07 Uplander. The second one. My first one I took back so many times I lost count. The service mgr. finally told me that he did not know what to do t fix the doors. GM took it back and at a cost of about $1000 to me replaced the Van. Only 11,000 miles on it. Now the New one is doing the same thind. I just got it back from the shop for the fourth time and it has already started messing up...
I haven just been told that the Uplander has been discontinued. They claim it is because it wasn't very popular and didn't sell well.. oh and the dealership hasn't done anything about the doors.
p.s. the alignment was so messed up on the van that our tires wore out in about 12,000 miles. The dealership's warranty doesn't cover anything but the engine even though we got the full warranty. So we dished out $900 for new tires and alignment.
Nikki wrote: GM repurchased my Uplander about a year ago. The hoops I had to jump through were an absolute nightmare, but I don't regret dumping that piece of junk for a minute. I think the thing that made me the angriest was when I called GM's customer service to tell them that, while driving 50 miles per hour down the highway, the passenger door came all the way open by itself, while my...

I have 4 kids, so all the seats are filled, as are most of the seats in most minivans...people that don't have kids, or have small families drive CARS! ABS lights are on as well annoys the crud ...
I have also had problems with my drivers side power door not closing and opening for no reason. The first time I brought the car in it had 10 miles on it! Now after 15 plus time in the dealership, it is still not fixed. I was told by everyone from the dealership to GMC corp, that it was an isolated incident and they don't have any other reports of the problem! It's one thing to lie to me, my ...

i have a 2006 uplander.. the passenger sliding door is stuck.. it's not a power door. it's locked and can't open.. also when were cruising at night. the lights flicker..like dim and bright. they say it's normal.. i've owned a few other vehicles over my life and this is first time ever the lights flickered like that..

I know this posting is for Uplanders that are 05 or 06 but I felt that I have to tell someone. I own an 07 Uplander LT. A few month ago my ABS light came on. When I took it to the dealership to have it looked at they told me that both the passenger and driver side front sensors had been torn completely off. They quoted me over 800 to fix because the sensors are part of the hub and wheel bearing assembly. I found a brakes place that quoted me...
We're in! We've had several of the same problems as the rest of you. If anyone does the class action we want to be a part. We've had to replace tires, brakes, ABS problems, door, quality of the general parts etc.

Carrie L wrote: Also forgot to mention that my traction control and abs lights come on all the time. Every time I take it in they can't identify the problem. Carrie the ABS light could be the wheel bearings. mine was coming on all the time and I finally took it in and the mechanic said they were the loosest bearings he had ever seen. So I have had 3 replaced and dropped around $1000 on that alone. I am also having the door problem with a...
2006 Uplander, piece of crap. Dealer could never "duplicate the problem" on various items. Rattle every time you go over a bump where the airbag is on the right passenger. Fixed once then could never fix it again. So I live with it. Rattle on every bump under the rear bumper some where, no one can fix it. Check traction control, check ABS, check Stability lights on constantly, out of warranty now and even the mechanic...
Wow I can not believe how many others are having the same problems we're having. ABS Light and doors. The person who worote about the weather stripping. I'm glad that fixed your problem but it did nothing for ours. Why hasn't a class action law suit been filed? Why hasn't GM recalled these components and had them replaced when there are so many complaints? Who do we turn to to see this happen. I tooo am on a limited income...
