Thread: Reglan

YES me too.  I took it for one week only and then had to get off.  It reallly made me depressed, and once I was off, my supply went ever lower than when I got on.  It sucked.

I was on Reglan from the time my son was 2 months to 12 months. What a mistake... I felt so pressured to do what was best for my son that I didn't think of myself. I knew the risks of depression but took it anyway. After a few months I was put on antidepressants. Up until that point I felt terrible, I was afraid to leave the house without my dh. I always felt like something bad was going to ...

My very good friend had the exact same experience. She took Reglan after returning to work to help milk production (this was 4 years ago) and had some major issues with depression and anxiety - not something she'd ever had to deal with.  She and her dh are both MD's and they did some research - unfortunately after the fact - and yes, it's documented that Reglan can cause those things in some ...

Just so you know, there was a huge recall on Reglan due to side effects like yours, and side effects to nursing babies (those using it to increase their milk supply).  My sister-in-law was on Reglan for a while, and her LO started developing involunary ticks, and wasn't sleeping well at all, and crying a lot.  I've known other people that have been on Reglan as well and developed anxiety and ...

Honestly, I'm not surprised at all by any of this.  I work as an ER nurse and Reglan is used in the hospital setting for nausea and vomiting.  Reglan was once used as a frontline drug for nausea, but because of it's SEVERE side effects, it is often a second or third choice.  Obviously, I usually give the drug IV.  I have seen people have what is called a dystonic reaction, as well as a severe ...

Thanks for the websites. Very interesting. I am just glad i am not the only one. I tried Fenugreek 1st and it made my child fussy so I got off it.  Thanks again

I took it through most of my pregnancy and didn't have any problems, but I've heard about all the side effects from several souces so they must be fairly common.
