Started 1 month, 1 week ago by bradvido
Is there any way to record over-the-air HDTV to .mpg instead of the default .ts (EDIT: i think it's actually .tp)? I'm using XBMC to view my recorded shows, and unfortunately it has no idea what .ts is, so i have to wait until they are compressed to .avi before i can watch the I tried searching the forum, but couldn't find anything on this topic, which surprised me...

Unless I'm mistaken, .tp is mpeg. Try changing the extension to test it. You could run a custom post processing job to just rename these files as one way to fix it. __________________ BTV Server : 4.9.2 Gigabyte eg45m-ds2h e8400 , EVGA 9500, 8gb, Win 2k3 Ent w/mxd Raid 0/1 2x500, Raid 1 2x1.5T, Gyration...

There is some other sort of wrapper around it, becuase just changing the file extension wont work. You can use 3rd party software such as HDTVToMpeg, which will strip out the MPEG, but this is obviously a work-around.

You can change tp (what BTV records, ather than ts like everyone else) to ts and/or I'm pretty sure that you can add .tp to the list of extensions that xbmc will play BB
