Thread: Reasons for getting stronger but not bigger??

I train mostly to get bigger, with strength gains 2nd, but as of lately thats not the way its working. My strength gains have been crazy strong, yet looking in the mirror and measuring tape im not getting any bigger. Ive been using PRRS, which is suppose to be mostly for size. I get 7-8 hours asleep. Diet is good. About 500 cal surplus. Ive gained a couple of pounds, yet my muscles dont ...

If youre consistently adding weight to the bar and not the scale, diets your problem most of the time.

I'm not very familiar with the program, but if you're not growing, I would try eating more. I was having the same problem, different program though, and I just started eating more, a lot more, and I started gaining weight again.

Are you actually measuring yourself with tape using consistent conditions or are you just eyeballing it? And a couple of pounds gained in two months is not sufficient.

measuring and eyeballing. And every thing ive read has seen i need to be eating about 3500 calories and ive been eating that plus maybe 100 calories. And thats with a 500 cal surplus, 3000 to maintain. Im using Scivations Lean Mass diet, so my diet is pretty spot on. Ill eat more thought, see what happens. My problem is the ONLY place i store fat is my lower stomach which i hate..o well. ...

Strength improvements precede size increases. Sounds like you're right where you're supposed to be.

I'm not very familiar with the program, but if you're not growing, I would try eating more. I was having the same problem, different program though, and I just started eating more, a lot more, and I started gaining weight again.

measuring and eyeballing. And every thing ive read has seen i need to be eating about 3500 calories and ive been eating that plus maybe 100 calories. And thats with a 500 cal surplus, 3000 to maintain. Im using Scivations Lean Mass diet, so my diet is pretty spot on. Ill eat more thought, see what happens. My problem is the ONLY place i store fat is my lower stomach which i hate..o well. thanks guys!
