Okay so I feel like my truck had been ticking more can anyone tell me if an 89 2.9l has adjustable rocker arms

Okay I don't know if I have adjustable rockers in this truck. If I do how do I adjust my valves. Never done it

But they are adjustable. The procedure is getting them to 0-lash then 1.5-2 turns. Too loose is better ...

okay so I wanna adjust them but dont really know how. Is it easier to have them adjusted or to do it myself. How much would it cost.

You need to set the #1 cylinder to top dead on the compression stroke, get the intake/exhaust push rods to 0 lash, then turn 1.5-2 turns. Then you move on ...

slow and steady does good work. hey pete. is 1.5-2 turns the updated adjestment? all data posted an update from ford. my old service manual said different though. i went with all data. ~mitch

I remember hearing that Ford put 4 turns in some kind of manual, but I haven't seen it. I'd really like to get a shop manual for my truck, they are awesome. I've read a few places indicating 1.5-2 turns, this is what I went with when I adjusted mine in. Even TRS on their 2.9L head replacement procedure lists 1.5-1.75. Did some more digging and thought this was pretty interesting (at the ...
