Plowright was horrible. One of the worst nominations ever.

The best thing one can say about Uma's Mia is that it was cool.

I agree about 1999 being an amazing supporting actress year - both acadamy-wise and for personal lists. One of the best ever?! Let's just bypass the winner. And I looove to see other people sing praises for Cloë Sevigny! What she and Hilary acomplished in that movie...Holy moly!

I was actually shocked when I revisited "The Madness of King George" a year or so ago. Hawthorne is terrific, but Helen Mirren? Why was she nominated for this performance?
