Thread to throw something out there. I'm selfishly asking for something to download and CD store or pawn shop when it becomes possible again. Just list a band and go on. Anything goes. Dinosaur Jr.
As far as Dinosaur Jr goes, did you hear their 2007 "reunion" album, Beyond ? Unlike so many reunion albums, this one doesn't suck, in fact it was one of the best albums released in 2007. If you haven't heard it, then it's a natural progression from the four albums I posted above.
+1 The Pillows. Japanese rock band. Big push outside of Japan came from the FLCL anime. I assume there are numerous variations of this thread already posted, but I want something where you can just post a band, people check it out if they want, fire a group back for others to check out. Low expectations, but I'm the only one recommending so far. I'm interested in diversifying and expanding my ...
I'm still listening to Tool's 10,000 Days album (released in 2006). The long songs are my favorites ( 10,000 Days Pt II (Wings for Marie) , Rosetta Stoned and Right in two ) but it's advisable to listen to the whole thing. If there's a Metal band that's put out better albums than Lateralus and 10,000 Days this decade then I need to hear about it pronto.

I stand firmly behind my disappointment with 10,000 Days (awesome packaging, but that's about it), but I agree with you about Lateralus and I think it's probably their best album. ...
Bump. Not a new thought, but I figure I'd put it out there. What I find thrilling about music is that superbands (according to wikipedia) have become rather common, and I'm able to discover for instance Elysian Fields because the singer did a few songs with Lovage, where The Automator was also in Gorillaz, which also featured Miho Hatori of Cibo Matto fame originally, who was in Butter 08, which included Russel Simmons from Jon...
It just bores the hell out of me and sounds more like A Perfect Circle than Tool. Still love the packaging though and I like flipping through the pictures from time to time.
Later with Jools Holland was very good last night (featuring Smokey Robinson with Eric Clapton, Bassment Jaxx and others). My favorite song was by Bassekou Kouyate (who won Best African Act and Album Of The Year at the BBC World Music Awards last year). http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode..._35_Episode_6/ (fast forward to 9 mins)
And if you like Kim Deal, why not throw in a little Frank Black? Pixies Now for this one, Mr. Jefe, you will have to create an imeem account - but hey, them interwebs ain't malicious(it's gonna prompt you for it right away if you haven't already got an account - it's quick and not tedious). And check out who contributed it. I'm fucking famous! Play this shit LOUD __________________ What the hell is this? You said,...
