I picked up an RT a-arm for a great price (thanks Nail ) and thought I would post the project for others so inclined. I know Captainasty is working on a modification for the stock arm ala Joe the Viking, although a little more sophisticated. He is going to use an insert that will allow different offsets. As for me I will settle for the 10mm the RT a-arm gives for my black rocket.
Here ...

Is it my imagination or is the RT arm a little less meaty in the "legs" of the A? Of maybe it is just the way the picture is taken?
Anyone have a used RT arm they would like to part with?
Cheers...

you think? is that what Nate was saying? I am hoping the high speed handling will still be steady, and the low speed tight stuff and turn in is improved. I will give a full ride report after I get...

i don't think you have to remove the headers, they were actually already off as I am awaiting the arrival of the real HOT SETUP!
PS don't confuse yellow with performance, ...
i am trying the create the perfect R12S! perfect for me that is!
I actually sold off the other header and pan and covered a good part of the new purchase, I am still around $21K total in the bike.

Shreddr, now you need to go ride a RT without the bags and then ride your S to compare the turn-in rate. I'm not sure if the RT A-arm totally duplicates the specs on the RT. You can do the test if you come down for the ECDR Spring Thaw.
The wheelbase of the R12R is advertised as 1495mm, which translates to 58.86" so it appears that the wheelbase is the same as the R12S. Comparing A-arms on the bikes (just did), the placement of the front attachment also appears to be the same. So even though the R feels like it has sharper turn-in, it's not because of wheelbase. Too bad, as the R has a steering damper so you wouldn't have to drill and tap a new hole.

I went to 190/55 have been pleased with the improvement. Next time, you may want to give Bridgestone BT002 or...
Mine's on the way. Couldn't get them to throw in shipping on a $500 part. Thanks for the heads up. Now I'm going to have to get the Steve Carlton treatment done to my shocks as long as I'm in there. Won't be till after Thanksgiving though. I've got a track day at Willow coming up that weekend.
