Does your hotmail account have a suffix for NewZealand ?
To ensure we are on the same page..
Does 'changed my location in my public profile' mean
http://profile.live.com
or
https://account.live.com/
Have you also changed your settings at

I have tried without success to block my junk emails without success.
I have followed instructions by the letter and they still come up again when
I reload my comuter. it is the same with the deletion of my test pages.
What do I have to do to remedy this. I am using Vista.

For what it's worth, I converted OE to pop3 because I thought Windows Live
was slow and unfriendly....
I have the latest build WLM desktop. I do not use Live.com.
Random contacts disappear after I email them. I can add that contact back
to the list and it will happen again.
This has become a real problem.
I just noticed half of my contacts are gone.
This is a new(2 weeks old) computer and I downloaded WLMD and imported from
OE6 with no problems.

Hello all,
I have about 50 folders in my Hotmail account and I want WLM-Desktop not to
synchronize most of them. In OE I got a list of all folders when clicking on
my Hotmail account. There, I could change the synchronization setting for all
folders with a couple of clicks and then enable synchronization for the few
folders ...

I think you are out of luck! Each one must be done separately. The same is
true of Views settings such as Hide read messages.

When WLMail is running, does it say Sign in under the close button? The sign in is for Messenger, Contacts, and other Live services. When not signing in, WLMail uses default contacts. Http Hotmail accounts will still sync when not signed in to Windows Live. The only way to password protect WLMail is to password your Windows user.
Contacts/File/Import/Address book imports OE Groups and converts to Categories. If one has an OE address book group called Favorites, it might create a duplicate. Import/Export using a *.csv in WLM will not retain groups or categories in either direction.
You don't need either Windows Mail or Windows Live Mail to do that. Just apply this fix: To make Hotmail your default email service: http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/224/1/Register-Windows-Live-Hotmail-with-the-Default-Programs-tool-in-Windows-Vista.html
Try going to Start - Default Programs - Set your default programs - see list on left, select Windows Live mail - on right, ensure it says "This program has all of its defaults (under the "pane"). If not, you need to select the 2nd green arrow (at bottom) and tic all of the checkboxes. Then it should tell you it has all of its defaults - you may need to do that for other applications in the list on the...

These are the paths for XP and Win7 to set the file associations. I don't have the path for Vista, but perhaps you can figure it out with this. XP: Control Panel | Tools | Folder Options | File Types Win7: Control Panel | Programs | Default Programs | Make A File Type Always Open In A Specific Program. That's as far as I can help. I don't use Vista. Sorry.

1) Icons: No 2) Images: Yes. Two things to check - Tools, Options, Read make sure Read all messages in plain text is not selected. - Tools, Safety Options, Security - don't block images.
I had all of those set the way you had suggested, so when I saw the 2nd method, I thought I'd try. It works here, so let's hope it solves Stang's problem as well :-) Grenou "slk759" <slk759@nowhere.com> wrote in message news:Oa3SBZsdKHA.3792@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > An FYI - I rechecked my settings and I have the "Use my current web > browser" selected...
