Started 3 months, 1 week ago by MariusG
My questions before I decide if I will buy one of your hosting plans 1. Regarding performance: Which is better,Xen or OpenVZ? Give reasons. 2.Does any of you know an application that measures exactly how much memory does an program running on Ubuntu(for example)use? Or CPU? 3.If I want to buy link-2 with Xen then what control panel do I get? only hostInABox is for link-2 and it isn't for ...

all your questions really require details on what you plan on running with relative specific information on how many users you plan for your service and whether that service have any specific requirements like logged on users or static content. Typical xen has swap and since openvz on vpslink doesn't have burst.... if your services run over the limit they start getting killed off because of ...

hey dan. concerning the hostinabox. maybe you can put some hypothetical limits or update that page because of the status of lxadmin. I actually don't see that going to work on a link2 even though you offer it.

What I still want to know: @1: Where is Xen better and where OpenVZ? @3: If there's no control panel then how do you control it? @5: Can you be more specific? Give me a number in Mb/s @6: Can you be more specific? Give me a number in Mhz EDIT: Q7: Is Xen burstable?

Can you tell me exactly ( or approximatively) how much more ram uses Xen? Something like: Xen uses X MB of ram but also has 2*ram swap space OpenVZ uses Y MB of ram but has no swap

And for anyone with the guts to run Windows Server 2008 in Core mode, or anyone with a preference for less bloat , there's "Putty Secure Copy." PuTTY Download Page WinSCP is great, but if you're comfortable with the CLI, pscp is even better. __________________ MS Outlook Email Encryption | Dell Beep Codes | Sony CEO
