Thread: Question: Turner XCE

Started 1 month ago by bozz
In prepping to sell my first Love, I'd like to find a disc adapter that Turner says they use to make. Anyone have one? Front fork has disc adapter, but rear is still V-brake, so want to upgrade before putting on e-bay. Thanks.

i wouldn't bother. its likely not worth the time and energy. if i were you i'd just sell the individuals parts (disc wheels, disc brakes, etc) and inform potential buyers of the complete bike that there is a disc conversion adapter available and let them make the call. some people like v-brakes and others already have disc wheels. of course, this only makes sense if you don't want/need to keep ...

My XCE has ISC tabs but bolt on canti posts are an option; which do you need?

To clarify, I have V-brakes now. There is no way I can currently run a rear disc brake unless I find the disc adapter Turner says they used to make. So I'm interested in seeing if anyone has the adapter enabling me to mount a disc brake on the rear. Thanks.

Boz - I've converted an XCE from canti brakes to disc. This required a replacement of the seatstay to one that had ICSG tabs on which to mount the disc adapter. Turner no longer has Horst link seatstays so this conversion will require the replacement of the entire rear triangle. In my view, not worth the effort to make a sale.

If you really wanted to put a rear disk on the XCE, could you find a Burner SS and swap it? That might open up your options too.

Many thanks for the comments. Have to agree, not worth the effort to change.
