Thread: Quad Screen Update

Started 1 month, 3 weeks ago by HopefulKel
Hey everyone. I posted last week about how I had a Quad Screen come back abnormal for Down Syndrome, and was ordered to have a level II ultrasound. My chances were 1:84. I went today and the ultrasound went very well! They couldnt find any markers for down syndrome and said everything looked great! They said because of this they can lower my risk to a 1:170 something chance, which is less than 1...

Congrats on team blue! Glad no soft markers were seen. This is exactly what happened with my DD. She is absolutely fine!

Congrats! How exciting! When we had ours done our little one was all curled up too, with her legs crossed, and it took the tech like 15 minutes of moving me around and pressing on my tummy to get her to uncross. Then she started sucking on the chord and it almost looked like she was laughing at us LOL .... so cute!!!

Please don't take this the wrong way.. But i have to tell you my experience. My second child I was given a 1/70 result. his nuchal length was normal. We were given an early anatomy scan to look for markers at 17 weeks, the Md couldn't see enough of the baby but did see a 2 vessel cord. Declined an amnio. We came back 4 weeks later for another scan. no markers seen, declined an amnio. my...

Thanks for sharing your story! Yeah, many women have had their ratio changed not only on this forum but on many others as well. I know my child still has that risk, but to me an amnio would make no difference right now. We will love him regardless.

The doctor did explain that Level II ultrasounds only detect 60% of babies who will have down syndrome. I honestly wish that they could ...
