Thread: Put your favorite books in order and share comments

Started 8 months, 2 weeks ago by Marx_Bros_Fan86
I would like to see what people thought of the books. I read them all for the first time in less than three weeks, a very different experience from the people who waited years for each book to come out. Snape was my favorite character. I have to say JK Rowling does not know how to write romance. Hermoine and Ron were an amusing couple, but I couldn't help but think "KISS each other already!"...

I loved the Goblet of Fire the most. I found something exciting was happening in each chapter in that book. I especially liked the Pensieve scenes. I also like PoA, which introduced two of my fave characters. Next favourite was Ootp. Kind of dragged on in parts of it, but I enjoyed reading it nonetheless. Snape's Worst Memory and when Mrs Weasley faces the boggart are two of my favourite scenes...

Prisoner Of Azkaban is my absolute favourite. It was the first book of the series I read having not already seen the movie, therefore it was the first one I read that the didn't know how it ended. Apart from that I have no particular favourite, each book has things I love and loathe, so I pretty much rank them equally. I actually enjoyed the chapters is HBP about Dumbledore's lessons. For...

1. Deathly Hallows I know this one has taken a lot of crap because expectations were so high, but I thought it was a worthy and wonderful ending. I loved all the Ron/Hermione goodness, I loved how we got to see so much else that we've been waiting for for years, I loved all the nods to past books and how everyone played some part, I loved that Harry got the ending he deserved. Was it perfect? Of...

I'll just do my favorite for now since I don't have a load of time: Prisoner of Azkaban- I hated the time changing plot. It's just a major copout and was a major disappointment. However, the story really moved, and we got introduced to two of my favorite characters- Sirius and Lupin. I also enjoyed that it's the one book where Voldemort wasn't the main problem. It was quite different than the...

im only gonna do top 2 and bottom 2 my fav book is the 6th 1 ... The half blood prince, it is just awesome coz there is loads of suspision (scuse spellin if wrong) with malfoy and all that. then comes the fact of the horcruxes, you just learn so much more my 2nd favourite it the 3rd 1 coz there is SO much excitement with all the time travel and sirius gettin the dementors kiss and lupin...

I'm also going against the majority of readers here and say: 1. Deathly Hallows: I was quite pleased with how the ending went. Battle of Hogwarts was on the epic scale I've been waiting for (I would say it's on an epic scale worthy of Lord of the Rings, but that's silly). I didn't much care for the random wanderings, Ron taking off, or a few deaths (read: Mad-Eye), but taken on the whole, it's...

i had watched the first 5 movies before i ever even opened a book. so i started with the sixth because i wanted to know what happened in the 7th. i finished them all in 2.5 weeks which is pretty good for someone that could hardly read till grade 5. HBP remains my favourite, because it is the first one i ever read and it is the reason i now love books. DH is second because its so good, POA is...

The top two books for me were Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire. IA. And it's funny because at first, I HATED GOF. On first reading I kept thinking how much this book dragged, but the ending with the graveyard and return of Voldemort, as well as "the parting of the ways", chapter, really saved the book for me when it all came together, and I can't wait to re-read it. POA and GOF ...

My favorite in the series was GOF. I loved Voldemort's resurrection, and overall I just really enjoyed reading it, I think out of all of the books I actually read it the fastest.... A VERY close second is HBP. (sometimes I think I might like it better than GOF) I really liked getting to know more about Voldemort, and the ending really surprised me. Next would be POA. It introduced two of my...

my fav. is the last one, most definetly. i thought they got better as they went on. (So, 1,2,3,4,5,6,7) But i do llike ur order 2. i woujld definetly agree with it. The 6th book was aall about drama, with all the characters, so maybe thats y u didn't like it. But 4 us girls, we had 2 know about thte characters love and feelings. JK Rowling is a genius with books, she is just amazing! I find a ...

Prisoner of Azkaban - This one has always been my favorite. We finally discover more about Harry's family and we find out why James and Severus were enemies in school and more about the murder of James and Lily. I love the whole shrieking Shack scene in the end and we are introduced to Sirius and Remus. Half-Blood Prince - We find out more about Voldemort's past and how he became the way he was today. There was also the whole mystery...

My favourite is definately Half Blood Prince. I love.. all of it. Discovering more about Riddle and the horcruxes, figuring out which side Snape is actually on, the general comedy of it - Luna and Ginny rock - plus it's just so grown up and dark. I didn't think much of it until I re-read the series and understood a lot of the references about Snape and DD, but ever since I read DH, it's been my top book. It also has my all time...

HBP - I love all the pensive/tom riddle stuff, and the build-up to the final book on how they could beat Voldie. I also loved all of the Snape's story in this. I also think this was the funniest books while still being the one of the darkest OotP - Umbridge, Fred & George, the Dobby/Kreacher dynamic, Sirius and the Order in general. There were so many great parts in this book. Many people think this book is too long, but this is...

From best to least best, in my opinion: 1) Deathly Hallows - Tying everything up, surprising us, introducing great new characters and bringing others back, great backstory, great scenes and great writing. And, yes, I liked the epilogue! 2) Order of the Phoenix - I was annoyed at Harry's anger, too, but the book is still great. Maybe the best villain in the series, and introducing Luna - my favorite new character since POA and one of my...
