You might want to pull it off and measure it,your damper length should be 3.400" if it is 3.875 you have a damper that is supposed to be a 351W or 302 H.O. with the Ford Racing .917 crank sprocket.That damper can be used on a 351C with the above sprocket but requires having .070" machined off.This was noted on the instruction sheet that came with my balancer.If you still have the old stock ...

Hey guys: I had bought a fliud damper for my 1971 - 351 cleveland.
Well it's been on the motor for some time but I had not put the pully's on because the car is not ready yet. Anyway started putting the pully's on it the other day and found that the crank shaft pully is not linning up with the water pump pully. I know the water pump pully is right because I still have the original water pump ...

Thanks Jeff; I'm gonna go and do some checking.
I only got three things in box with the fliud damper.
A sticker, a warning note not to bang on it, and another sticker that has the No#
for the track inspector. There was not anything about a crank sprocket on any machining

If it was the other way where your crank was in too far I was going to recommend that same spacer I am using from Zoops, but yours is just the opposite problem of mine. What water pump are you using? Those can vary too. I have actually had to pull the top flange a little further out with a press at times to get things to line up........had to do that on the 350 in my T.

Hey Itoldyouso; Sorry I took so long but I had to pull the cover off and the water pump pully. This is everything I found on it. D7TE and below that it's got 72, then on the other side it had a 905. Its a good water pump life time warrenty with the good bearings.
