Is anyone else bothered by the very premise of this show? Are we supposed to learn to like a fake psychic (a redundancy, of course) who, like all con men, is able to study people's body language and "read" them? If this were real life, his actions would cause somebody to die at some point, especially if the cops believed him and took resources away from where they were needed and used them where ...
Ack, I accidentally started another thread for this show because I can't spell it, so it didn't show up in my search. I'm an idiot. Many apologies. I'm hoping they don't try to treat this too seriously. If it feels too "real", I think I will be upset about promoting psychics being used in forensics. It already seems like there is enough of that crap going on in real life. The Dead Zone doesn't ...
I think part of the way they seem to be trying to avoid some of the problems mentioned above is by making it so that, unlike "real" psychic detectives, this one isn't just pulling stuff out of his ass. He's actually giving genuine information, based on observation, deduction, and photographic memory, but packaging that information as if he were psychic.
Apart from being glad that Dule Hill has a new series, I wasn't very interested in this until I saw a commercial during the AFI tribute to Sean Connery. I smiled a lot, laughed out loud a few times, and decided that we really have to at least give it a try. And, yes, it's being packaged with "Monk", which is being moved to an hour earlier on the USA lineup on Friday night.
I had heard that Corbin Bernsen had a new series, but I couldn't remember the name of it. I just saw the banner at the top of TWoP and decided to check out its site. Definitely looks funny. I'll be TiVo-ing it July 7th.
I just saw the pilot "on demand" and it made me laugh so hard! I thought it was very funny. It doesn't exactly have a good story and Dule Hill was wasted in the first episode but the main character was so funny I didn't notice. Definately will watch the second episode.
Huh? A jury awarded them 1.2 million, not Bonaventure. That's a lot in a wrongful death suit any way. I didn't think they had reason to be pissed. Between the fact of the death itself (for which no amount of money can ever make up), the fact that he didn't remember the trial enough to recognize the victim's brother and he seemed to feel like justice had been served so he no longer had anything to feel regretful (let alone...
I think I figured out that the eps that don't work for me are the ones where Shawn is the weirdest person in the ep. When he's so off-the-wall silly all by himself, it's just too much for me. I did like his throwaway idea of an electric sponge. But the best part was when Vick offered Henry the consultant job. As it was happening I was thinking "What a fantastic, daring way to shake up the show." I always hate...
I was upset that Henry didn't take the job at the end too, but maybe this means he'll get a little more airtime than he's been getting lately. I don't really see the point of that scene if there doesn't end up being more to it, so I don't think it's the last we'll here of it. Perhaps something will happen to Shawn that makes Henry change his mind and decide to become more involved in that part of...
More spec on the spoiler - They could also go the other way entirely - Shawn screws up so badly that he runs away from home. Again. They have the whole break to set up what their little world would be like after a few months without the boy wonder. They could have him return for the holidays. You know, in THE HOLIDAY EPISODE they better be doing this year.
Except the way Shawn covered for himself--accusing the wrong guy on purpose to try and suss out the real murderer--worked and there was no problem. Even if there had been, Shawn has solved countless cases for the police--it wouldn't have been such a big deal. It's not like the police never falsely accuse anyone. Plus, Vick wasn't referring to the pizza case when she said Shawn's mistake had been a disaster for the...
Best Psych-Out EVER! I hope more comes of Vick's offer to Henry. I miss Henry. I was glad they pulled back on the shippiness this week. Other than that, I wasn't crazy about this episode. I found it a bit dull.
Great news Scarlett 3 thanks for posting!! I don't know if anyone has caught this tidbit from the Official site lately. If you have, sorry for being late to the party. James is doing a play right now called 'Extinction' with non other than Michael 'Hornstock' Weston. Here's the link to learn more. It's part of James' production company 'Red Dog Squadron' who he's a...
Weirdly enough, although that's how I tend to see their relationship normally, I thought the episode had some strange 'shippery vibes. The Grease exchange seemed to be a direct contrast to the fact that Scott didn't pick up on her Goodfellas reference. I found that curious, too. When Scott didn't catch the Goodfellas joke, I resigned myself to some subsequent scene of Jules making another film reference (or the same one)...
There's nothing wrong with any of our opinions. I personally was just trying to gain a better understanding of why some of you were getting so wound up when it's pretty clear that Shules isn't truly taking over the show. We all have different opinions and we can debate them, but saying "I don't get why some people here are so..." or "It seems that some of the posters here..." or...
Omg. This was just the greatest epsiode ever, I was so tired after my graveyard shift that I was going to go to bed, and I changed my mind. Thank god for that. I am surprised that nobody mentioned what great coordination Shawn had with lassie at the very end, its like they looked at each other and knew what to do. Just agg. Work was crazy tonight and on top of this, i cant go to sleep. Its only 1:30 in the morning here.
