1. If you get more stubborn every time you are corrected , one day you will be crushed and never recover . Interesting. The same concept is echoed in Hebrews: 4 For it is impossible to restore again to repentance those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God...

7. A good person knows the rights of the poor , but wicked people cannot understand such things . Interesting. Who are the poor? Is the definition strictly financial, or is the concept more broad? Is health care a right?

As you have said , deeply sobering ! We all need to be careful . I am constantly aware of how bad I can be . God had enough of Ahab and Jezebel when they forged the documents of Naboth's inherited vineyard and had him stoned to death from the lies of two witnesses . ... James ... still under construction !

You know , I thought about that , too ! I would think that the poor mentioned here are the righteous poor . It does not necessarily mean that they are going hungry or even doing without health care . They may just not have the money to pay for unjust taxes , animals for the sacrifices , etc . Any thoughts on this verse ? Psalm 37:25 I have been young , and now am old ; ...

Excellent posts , Ihaselden ! You gave us plenty of God's word . That's what we need . We need to learn to lean on God , and not our own understanding .

Never mind that God's omnipotence and perfection are bound... restricted by Love. If they are bound, they are not omnipotece and perfection. As if our definitions of perfect and omnipotent should be applied to God. You'd think God's definitions would be less limiting, not more.

Any thoughts on this verse ? Recognizing that the rain falls indiscriminately, this reads as either an observation or a metaphor, not a promise or guarantee that the righteous will never be lacking for bread. It echoes Jesus words in John 6:35 Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst....

You'd think God's definitions would be less limiting, not more. I guess it depends on your definition of limitation. If you want physical pain, disease, and finally death... if you want emotional pain, disease, and a longing for the comfort of death, then yes. His love is limiting, because it's gonna put an end to all that. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and...

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Rev 21:4 So it's impossible to stub your toe in heaven? Or are you saying that nerves will be incapable of transmitting pain? Or are there no nerves? We already know that there will be no ...

<< You'd think God's definitions would be less limiting, not more. >> God defines, HE is not defined by man, HE might only be limited by Himself. I do think it ironic that you continue to post about a God that you say does not exist. :-)

Doesn't sound like much of a place. You create yours, He'll create mine... I suspect never the twain shall meet.

<< The point, of course, is to show the internal contradictions inherent in the concept of such a being. >> ------------ The contradictions are internal to you not to God. The contradictions are a direct result of statements and definitions made by you and by your Bible.

So it's impossible to stub your toe in heaven? Or are you saying that nerves will be incapable of transmitting pain? Or are there no nerves? We already know that there will be no food in heaven, because plants and animals have no soul and so they won't be there. There will be no sleep, because there will be no darkness. Doesn't sound like much of a place. feedmeNOWhuman, you ask good questions! Beyond this human experience, we...
