Thread: Progesterone Suppositories side effects

Started 3 months, 3 weeks ago by laurens1122
Hi ladies! I am taking Progesterone suppositories for the first time this month and just wondering what side effects anyone else has experienced. I heard they can mimic pg symptoms so I'm trying not to look into anything. I also read that with the suppositories you are supposed to have a lot less side effects. Can anyone enlighten me to they symptoms they might have while taking the ...

I took them for the first 14 weeks of my last pregnancy and they made me really sick.  I was so nauseous, had a ton of headaches, very tired.  Since I was pregnant, I don't know if it was all pregnancy, or all progesterone, but my dr told me that the progesterone would amplify the pregnancy symptoms and make them worse.  I believe the suppositories saved my pregnancy, and I have heard that they ...

I am in the same boat and start taking a progesterone suppository this month on CD 16.  I really hope we don't get bad side effects!  I guess it would be worth it if it helped us become pregnant though!!

I haven't really noticed anything too bad yet. Been really exhausted, vivid dreams and really hungry. How many days have been on it Libragal? I'm so glad to hear they saved your pg Kelly. I know the side effects will suck but if I get a BFP it will be so worth it!!

A friend of mine took them...I don't know about her side effects, but she had triplets!!  Two identical boys and one girl, so the suppositories evidentally allowed her to drop two eggs, and one split.  Best of luck to you!

They make you tired... but, again, that could just be from actual PG! :)

April- Did they seem to give you other pg symtoms? I've been having the vivid dreams and increased hunger since 2-3DPO.

Can I ask why your doctors put you on progesterone? My OB offered it to me to take after O, and I am trying to decide whether to try it or not. He doesn't believe that testing P before you are PG tells you much, so I don't know my levels are low. However, I do have old age, a shortish LPs and spotting pointing in that direction. Thanks! (I took P from about 4.5 weeks PG last time and ...

I took them for 14 weeks when I was pg with my son. I just remember having to wear a panty liner.

I honestly am not sure why he put me on it this time. lol I did have b/w at 10DPO last month b/c I thought I had a faint BFP. My progesterone was super low at only 4.6 so maybe they're thinking I have low progesterone. Just hoping it helps me get a BFP!!

Lauren, I didn't see that you asked me a question until today.....for some reason I didn't get notified, my apologies.  I started my progesterone on CD 16 which was Sept. 20th.  I've been using it for 6 days and my side effects are: weird dreams and feeling tired.  I can't even stay awake to finish watching my shows at night and usually I don't have any problems with this.  How long have you ...
