inotmark to endy: you are contradicting yourself. either there are or are not reasons for a man to strike a woman. if your statement "in most cases" is true, then there are cases when it is appropriate. you can't have it both ways. you also don't know the particulars of the case at hand. you don't know if it was appropriate or not or even if it was just an accident and she got in the way of a jab intended for someone...
