Hey all, how are we?
I need you advice/opinions if I may.
Over the last few months, my car has suffered somewhat at the hands of vandals. To paint a picture, my neighbourhood is quiet and residential that backs onto rather beautiful country surroundings and a nature reserve, the draw back being that I have cantankerous middle aged - old neighbours who fight over the limited parking....

Reading that, I'm jealous. I'll...
Whats the world coming to when you need to resort to such measures
I'd opt for the camp out one night, as it may only be the one person with a vendetta against you for some reason. If you catch them, it may stop, who knows (try & borrow a camera with night vision if you go down this route, and kicking the little shits head in will only cause you more aggrevation with the police etc, no ...
can pick up cheap cctv sets. My friend did this down our road when a spate of car crimes happened up his end of the road...could be worth investigating.
have you confronted any of the neighbours and asked if they saw anything?
Feel & Chris, the car is always parked in the same spot when things happen to it, always adjacent to my alley way where I enter & exit the house. I am not picky about this space, if it's there, i'll have it but if someone else is parked there, I will find somewhere alternate, it's really no bother to me.
The camp-out will be the 1st measure and if I went down the car cover route, I have to ...

I have had a word with a couple of neighbours about it knight, the most honest ones who are nice to me but none have noticed anything. It must happen in the early hours as 9/10 times, i'm out on a Friday and leave the car at home.
I really don't get it, I'm not an @rsehole, I don't speed around the area, I don't rev the engine or work on the car in the street, I don't play loud music, I am ...
just for a bit of investigation before you spend the hard earned dosh when you shouldn't have to the little srouts!!
If you refuse this space even when it free and park else where, could you keep an eye on who parks there and see if it the same person that will take the spot this wil then allow you to have an idea before you start who it could be.
Might be hard as if you say its busy ...
i would stakeout....take a few redbulls and some of that relentless power shot and your'll be up all night! make sure you get photographic or video evidence dont jump out all guns blazing. remember you will probably live near one of them so if they get caught they may want revenge, better to do it softly softly and tell the police

You got PM.
Some people, the "neighbours from hell" type are not logical - it might well not be aimed at you. It could well be taht the guy with garage doesn't like people parking opposite; he has a garage, and is fed up of having to look at cars parked oppostire his house.
Obviously might not at all be him, I'm just speculating, but damaging a car is the kid of behaviour that "they"...
the light from a dvd player might give the game away but I reckon a stakeout is a good call. I dont have baseball bat but I do love some gentle persuasion.
I paid £240 for the camera and DVR unit. Still waiting for price on shipping as I only ordered it this morning. Dont think there awake yet. Have a look at the video quality on youtube and on that website. Its very very good.
In car camera was in Wak's TT - he often recorded "stuff" on the roads (people pulling out, etc). Searching around, I spotted this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G8i-szncrI

Streaming video over 3g would be horrendously expensive and powering an in car PC 24/7 could also cause some problems! You could set up a laptop or something in the car if its in range of your wireless in the house and stream it on a friday night i suppose.... http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...C=SO&U=strat15 much cheaper option if you've already got a laptop - just dangle your router out the window or something
