Thread: Prepaid Mobile Internet Stick

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by BlackBerryLarry
I read that virgin is planning to launch a prepaid internet stick. Sounds exciting. Looks like data is finally going prepaid! How much is this going to cost?

It's out there and available. It's outrageous though. The aircards $99.99 and it's $60 for 1gb. Here ya go. http://www.virginmobileusa.com/mobile-broadband

LMAO. Guy(girl?) was joking. He was just complaining about the prices in the States. I doubt we'll have them very differently here.

The stick itself will cost $149. Tehre is currently only one option for data usage, it is 1GB of data for $40. Launches same date as LG Bliss on Nov 29th.

Judging from the fact that firefox(a far superior browser, anyway) will connect and IE won't, I'd be inclined to believe it's something with your IE settings, not the aircard. Have you tried it using a different internet connection?

First months 1 GB will be included in the 149.99. The longest you can keep the 1 GB is 1 month, but if you used it all up in 2 weeks you could buy another card. Sucks that in order to use it you will have to register a credit card though.

I was curious, training said that this would have a number attached to it so it could receive account updates etc. via sms message from Virgin. Would that mean this stick can also receive sms from other phones, or will it be so that only Virgin can send texts to these numbers?
