Thread: Pre game events

So i'm making the trip up from Canada for my first verizon center caps game(home opener vs leafs)... never been to DC.. so what should i do for game day? whats a good place to eat by the rink, what time should i get the rink for.. ect oh and while i got a thread going, are they raising the SE banner that night?

If your going to be in the area in the morning, morning skate is always something you can check out as well in Kettler.

If you want to look at some great artwork, stop in the American Art Museum/ National Portrait Gallery opposite VC- it's free and they have a terrific cafe and courtyard to eat in that is spectacular- otherwise- Clyde's before ( and after) but it will be packed, get there early! 1/2 hour prior to face off the team come out for warm-ups and they allow everyone down in the lower level to watch. Kind of nice to do once in a while since my seats are way up high.
