Thread: Pop Quiz for Invitational Nominees

Started 2 months ago by howardberger1950
OK, I'm going to keep it simple today.  According to the reliable people at Be.tUs  the Phils are a 155 favorite to win tonight and the Under is also a favorite.  I don't care.  Betting will be even on the two options: 1) 1* or 1X:  Select the winning team in Game 5 of the 2009 World Series. 2) 1* or 1X:  Over/Under 8.5 total Runs Scored in tonight's game. Phillies Under By the way howard 8.5 is a great runs scored over/under, I think it will be right around that, tough to go under here but with AJ solid on 3 days rest and Lee pitching...I'm thinking a tad under 9 total.

I hate to clutter this thread but as of right now I won't be involved in this pop quiz. I am very confused as to how the Phillies will react to last night's game. They are a resilient bunch and if Lee wasn't pitching this would be a no brainer. I also believe A.J is due for a blowup game but then again last night's game could've killed the Phillies mojo. Like I said I am confused.

I also have no idea what will happen tonight; that's why I opted to avoid any "odds" assigned by the nameless gambling site (whose name is banned by ESPN).  I think MLB should dictate that Joba and Lidge have to pitch complete games for each team and we could have an old-fashioned Home Run Derby to determine this year's champ.

They might win tonight, rj, but I guarantee you they don't win tomorrow.

haha... It is odd that he was dropped though... Good pickup nonetheless.  yeah, I thought it was odd, too.  I got him with the 8th WW priority, too.  Had to drop Morrow to make room.

Howard not that it matters but what would your picks be im pretty interested?    It's not a game I would bet (if I were still betting sports).  I have no idea what the mood is in the Phillies clubhouse.  However, it's really hard to pick against Cliff Lee right now.  On the other hand, the Yankees have seen him now, so it's a matter of who makes the right adjustments.  He'll have to change his pitching pattern and...
