Thread: Political Posts......

Started 11 months ago by Murphy
There have been many posts here lately on the subject of gun control. The forum and myself as well as many of us around the state and the country, welcome those posts. We should, as they do concern Alaskan and all gun owners. We all should be vigilant and jealously guard our constitutional rights. Now, that being said, please understand this is the shooting forum, it ...

Alot of the stuff posted is ten years old or more. You can do more good by being a big brother and takeing a kid hunting than preaching every day on the forum.Time spent posting here is much better spent sending the same words to D.C. or the local paper.

Eric Holder said yeaterday that the violence in Mexico is because we have gun rights here in the US. Now this is what the NY Times is saying: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/02/26/us...ewanted=1&_ r=1 Its sure the pits that they are so polished at what they do. Holder said they were getting grenades and ak-47's from us and tearing apart their country. Whats a guy to do to counter ...

I don't know! When I have a few cases of AK's and RPG's I know I always try to send them to Mexico first and lately they have been offering the best price. Do you think this guy has an agenda? Remember there is a bunch of money, that no one was concerned about, in the stimulus package to fight this illegal gun tade to Mexico. Blame all of Mexico's problems on the hard working, taxpaying,...

Legislation has been drafted and sent to Governor Palin for an Alaska Firearms Freedom Act, (drafted from the Montana Legislation), as well as an Alaska State Sovereignty Resolution which 8 other States are drafting as well. I have attached pdf's for convenience. Check it out at Micheal Dukes website. http://www.michaeldukesshow.blogspot.com/

This article from the ADN sounds like perhaps people's E-mails letters and calls might just be doing some good. Let's hope so. Power to the Pe-- well, you know. http://www.adn.com/news/politics/story/709722.html

Murphy, I can understand your concern about cluttering up the shooting forums with political posts and I agree with you. But there should be a way to start and discuss threads on these topics because they are imoprtant. This thread is a good place but it doesn't really allow much discussion on multiple subjects. The Global forum is a good place for politics but there may be a lot of shooters ...

According to the Gun Owners of America and others, this move to procede with S.1776 was a serious attack on gun ownership, the move to invoke cloture, had it passed, would have virtually guaranteed passage of the actual bill according to the rules of the Senate. Notice how our new senator sided in this attempt to require your gun-related health data be dumped into a federal database. It would also have put your (government mandated) insurance...

I am not a liberal or any of the other insults you shout. If you believe in your freedoms you should respect the right of others to say there opinions. There may be issues out there that could affect our gun rights in the future but I personally don't see anything I'm concerned about in the next few years. The U.N. arms control treaty by the way has nothing to do with domestic gun rights, shipments or uses in any way. When we...

I remember when HR45 first surfaced on the radar in January. I think it also included provisions to require the use of registered ammunition, i.e., serial numbers on bullets. I've referenced it within correspondence with my elected officials as an example of a needless firearm restriction. It is encouraging to note that there is only a 2% approval vote from those visiting the link that Floatplane posted. Does anyone know the...

I've been watching the whole story unfold since the early 60's - I'm amazed that we still have the freedoms we still have. Perhaps the most important is the 2nd amendment - without it the others aren't worth more than the paper they are printed on. Who has the control is evident by what all the news media, talk radio etc. have in common - an unquestioned support of Israel. Having lived overseas several times and kept up...

mauserboy, I'll offer you the same bet. You are free to put your money where your insinuations lie. Deaf, dumb, blind, and $200 richer What do you think? Would you like to lose a bet to a deaf, dumb, and blind man?
