Thread: PlusNet Have Undercharged me and want more Money!

Hello i need some advice. My ISP PlusNet sent me a email that said due to a error they have undercharged me and now want £244. I dont know what to do and its a lot of money. Help Please

First, is it true that they have undercharged you? If so.. you should probably ask them about some kind of payment plan (most companies will let you pay more per month over 1 year or so.. to cover the cost; rather than paying it all at once). Secondly.. try and ask them to back down a bit on what you owe, after all.. it is their mistake Tom - www.mouselike.org

This is always a bit of a legally grey area, though the onus is actually on the customer to make sure that any money being taken from your account is the correct amount. Of course the ISP must share responsibility for charging you accurately. The core question here is whether or not their math is correct, have they or have they not undercharged you?

A fair resolution to a mistake (if a mistake it is!) like this should be:- ISP charges you £x a month too little for y months. You pay back £x extra for y months. If the billing error is on their side, customers should be stung by a large one-off charge.
