I just wrote up another one for ya.
Word has it that there are 55 Democrats ready to go with the public option, and five who will hold out until the end for maximum leverage, apparently some combination of Lieberman, Lincoln, Landrieu, Conrad, Bayh and Nelson (Baucus hasnt surfaced in these machinations).
Lieberman is mooing that the Senate bill will cost taxpayers money, ...

Congresswoman apologizes for 'great white hope' comment
Posted: August 27th, 2009 07:27 PM ET
From CNN's Lauren Kornreich
WASHINGTON (CNN) A Republican congresswoman apologized Thursday for saying that her party is looking for a "great white hope" to counteract President Obama's political agenda.

"Great white hope" is an expression that has no more to do with skin color than the term "black hole." This reminds me of the same stupidity that had people upset several years ago about the word "(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)rdly" which also has nothing to do with race. Much ado about nothing.

Poor choice of words. I think if we can forgive Obama for using the term "typical white person" we can forgive her for this statement without condoning or ...

Republicans don't need a "great white hope". They just need to truly embrace the free market.
I might be willing to believe that her comments were not intended to be a racist remark, but come on... This is just ridiculous. She's a US Representative... If she is just too dumb to know that it is a racist remark, then she needs to be voted out for incompetance. If she isn't too dumb to know it is a racist remark, she needs to be voted out for being a racist. It just is not acceptable ...
Did she have anything to apologize for??? I thought so at first...but now am wondering.
Here's the definition of the phrase:
S: (n) white hope , great white hope (someone (or something) expected to achieve great success in a given field) "this company is the great white hope of the nuclear industry's waste management policy"
And here's the context in which she used it:...

Title is misleading. I was expecting something entertaining on the order of freedom fries...

Quid pro quo, huh? I guess you could consider it that if the Allied Europeans didn't have any imperialistic "holdings" in Southeast Asia and the Pacific. ...

I guess I'm still trying to figure out the "suck factor" that KidRocks is claiming. Clinton sells 900,000 his first week, while Palin sells 700,000 her first week. A difference of only 200,000 copies sold should be embarrassing for the lefties that are making this argument, as this looks more like an act of desperation on their part. If Sarah Palin's claim to fame was being able to "see Russia from her...
