According to the report the league has already rejected the players proposal of guaranteed contracts and for the elimination of club options on players’ contracts. Those two items are said to be very key issues for the players.
Officials for Major League Soccer and the union declined comment. But sources ...

No, we pointed out that the current CBA has nothing in it about the salary cap, only the individual salary rules.
Owners are going to threaten to pull out of the league and the players need to call them on it. Everyone has a lot to lose, but soccer players, most of them at least that are not big names and can sign abroad can earn a decent or comparable living outside of soccer anyway. The owners have millions-billions invested in this.
I say call them on their bluff and if the league folds...so be it.
