Thread: Play no Defense this week?

Started 1 month, 1 week ago by torman71
I'm up 17 points and I have Pittsburgh's D in the Mon. game, and the person I'm playing has Jeff Reed, Pittsburgh's kicker. He's projected at 10, and the Steelers D is projected for 2. Would it be smart to play a D that's on bye rather than play the Steelers D just in case they go negative? I doubt a kicker is gonna put up 17 points.

I'd leave the Steeler Defense in. When was the last time, if ever they scored negative points.

Even more unlikely, the steelers put up neg points. Dont over think this, play a D

Don't bench the Steelers D they'll do better than 2 pts.

most scoring doesn't even allow negative defensive scoring..what would happen that they would get negative for?

most scoring doesn't even allow negative defensive scoring..what would happen that they would get negative for?  Where did you come up with that?  Every standard league on ESPN has negative scoring, and I'm guessing most custom leagues do as well.   If the defense gives up enough points, fantasy points start coming off the board.  Still, I would not sit a defense in a game I don't have wrapped...

I know how you feel I was up 18 but they had austin and I had pitts D luckily I noticed in time that I had Eagles D. anyways havent looked but pretty sure Austin did score 18 or that Eagles gave up had negative points.

I'm all for leaving a spot open if the other team has no players left (especially Def).  The Jets killed me this way earlier this year.  However since the other team still has a player going I wouldn't do it.  It is just a kicker but there's always a chance he goes off.  You don't think the Steelers can kill a bunch of drives in field goal range?

I'll trust everyone here and play my D. I could use some more total points too ;-)

I wasn't paying attention to which kicker he had but the statement holds true for Denver's D.
