"What would it take to get this guy (Lowe) i am not sure. " With that contract, they may have to give him away. I'm guessing Lowe has some sort of a NTC in his contract. He made it pretty clear when he was a FA he didn't wnat to play for a rebuilding team. Unless he's had a change of heart, I'd guess that leaves us out.

I see where the Brewers declined Looper's option. He had a 14-7/5.+ last year. The Brew crew had a decent offense last year, which explains some of the 14 wins v. his era. Bringing him here with our bunch of power strokers wouldn't be all that promising. Thoughts?

confused on what you are saying here

Basically saying that with the offense we currently have which scored 3 runs or less in 60+/- losses last year, it would be tough for him to sustain a winning formula, given his 5+ era with a good hitting team. Just sayin....

Looper also gave up either 29 or 39 HR's - I cannot remember which - and that does not bode well in the AL East with Boston and New York playing us 18 times each. He also "led" the NL in runs surrendered at approx 130. Turning to the bullpen I see the Rockies declined the option on RH set up man Rafael Betancourt. He might make a decent replacement for Danys Baez should he not be back.

Dayum, that many... Pit him with Guthrie and ya got yourself a boondoggle for sure. I'm sure (I think I'm sure) MacPitcher will take all that into consideration. EDIT: My curiosity got the best of me. Looper gave up 39 HR's and 123 runs. Guthrie only gave up 35 HR's and 120 runs. That indeed would be a double barreled shotgun for sure.

well its a good thing i am not talking about looper than isnt it

Guess I got my L's mixed up. As for Lowe, he'll probably want at least a 3 year deal. Him being 36, not sure they'd go that high. If he'd go for 2 plus option, why not. He sure gives up a helluva lot less HR's/Runs that that other 'L' fellow.

Must be the flashbacks from the 2009 season. I should be coherent by ST, then again....

Lowe already has an overinflated 3 year contract that the Braves want to dump. Thats the part of the point of the thread. Pay attention Starman. You're out of alignment today.
