get your exhaust checked you could be putting out nasties run the car in the open air until you know what is in the exhaust, and yes you have to pay

thats interesting, when the government brought in the use of veg oil @ 2500 a person, did they test emissions before it was allowed?
LHM - Citroen hydraulic fluid, the liquid suspension pushrod, brake , power steering and automatic clutch fluid.
Wikipedia: "briefly illegal in the United States, LHM has since been adopted by manufacturers like Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, BMW, and Audi". It doesn't
take up water and replaced their vegetable oil based and synthetic fluids, which did. It's bright green in colour.
...
yes they did test the emissions before the 2500 allowance for veg and if you get caught using mineral oil on the road its customs & excise you are
dealing with and they can fine you £2000.00 on the spot and scrap your car for you, or it may be £5000.00

Can't see any problem with DI engines either? Its a mineral oil so will it be OK if any gets in the sump? I have a Nuffield 342, BMC 3 cylinder DI, Simms inline pump. NO glowplugs though so can take some cranking to start when very cold. Rarely...

Citroen rarely was tho!!! The English especially struggled with the 'maze of pipes' - once understood it's a brilliantly simple and effective system. Mechanics are forever replacing brake pipes, but the moment they turned out to be a suspension pipe it was a no-no, even though the suspension is self-bleding! I've seen DOT4 in the LHM reservoir (even though the LHM is bright green) and clearly visible, sphere replacement...
