Technically Sony have their own lossless format, similar to that used in DTS-HD MA, which includes a core ATRAC3plus and the remaining bits of information.   Aparently it can be used with the PSP although I've never tried it. They seem to have abandoned the idea of ATRAC these days though.   No idea why they don't include it, or FLAC, though as it would be a nice feature to have.

I very much doubt it will ever happen.

It won't happen, at least not for a long time.

But how many of your saves are protected? besides, protected saves doesn't stop someone starting the game from scratch you don't loose your trophies so, if it's trophies your worried about, don't be.

It would be nice if the PS3 did support FLAC. But untill the PS3 can organise music properly I'm not that bothered what formats it can play.
