Thread: People who prefer Dawn of the Dead 1978 over the 2004 version

Are you all kidding me!?!? The remake was edgy, fast, slow and creepy and occassionaly hilarious all at once. It was superior in every way, even in story in my opinion. And before anyone says it, no I'm not some goofy Generation Y kid who is only impressed by CGI and kabooms and blah blah.
I chalk up people who say they prefer this over the remake into:
A) Older folks who maybe snuck into...
To: TheCheek
Or:
C) The people who don't respect anyone who can't come up with an original idea so resort to doing unnecessary rehashes.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
But the rehash WAS necessary! Blue zombies? Bad acting? The original wasn't the absolute worst movie I have ever seen but I there's no way it's superior to the remake.

I can't give a fair opinion on the original, as the first ten minutes were so bad I couldn't continue, but I highly doubt that's why people like it.
I do like the remake, but it's nothing spectacular. Just solid entertainment.
Kitsch-ass list.

It was in no way necessary. It wasn't bad by any means, and certainly better than the Day of the Dead remake, but it did nothing that the original hadn't already done.
Besides, fast zombies suck.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
They really shouldn't have called it a remake (and gave it a different title) ... except for the zombies and the mall setting, completely two different films.
and I'm sorry what is edgy about the remake... besides fast zombies (which was already done in 28 days Later), the film offers absolutely nothing to the zombie genre... it is mindless entertainment, with stereotypical hollywood ...
You must be a fan of Day of the Dead (2008) and Day of the Dead 2: Contagium also. Just goes to show the creditability of your opinion...
Hickory dickory dock. Cain has picked his lock.
DON'T MESS WITH OIL WORKERS! was perhaps the most awesomely terrible line in history. the whole things one of the seagaliest movies ever, along with undersiege 2. "They are just a flock of to fish for fame its person"
Okay I watched about three minutes of that socail commentary and couldn't take it anymore! Incidentally, am I demented for laughing at the dead weasel at 1:20 of that clip?!? The bar fight scene was incredible! "I cut you!!" and the bit where Steve lands a 5 hit combo on the 60 year old man were the hi lites for me! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vk5pcjCwyQ&feature=related
30 days if night, now theres a sh!tty movie OH NO YOU DIDN'T!! I'm off to bed. I'll start a 30 Days thread some other time. Gretzky Tribute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFX0dVXNDXw
It's been a while since I've seen the Dawn remake, so my memory is a little fuzzy. I don't recall if there were some straight up deaths caused by stupidity, but there were certainly some close calls. *The dude keeping his pregnant wife around after being bitten *There's also another couple that show up later on in the movie. One has been bitten and is obviously sick but they just kind of leave her unattended on a bed...
It wasn't a conclusion in the first place. It was pithy jab at a film I don't like. It wasn't a movie review. I'm beginning to feel embarrassed for you. "What you call love was invented by guys like me, to sell nylons."
"The remake was edgy, fast, slow and creepy and occassionaly hilarious all at once" So it was fast and slow all at the same time. That IS quite an accomplishment. "This is the internet. We don't have sex."
