I think "remodeling" is a better word, anyways, it is in a dry dock and that is the only update I have.

They don't appear to be cutting any corners on maintenance....those ships look immaculate. Good pictures...provided by the JSDF?

Thanks for posting the pics Xinhui. Is this the furthest out the PLAN has ever conducted a drill/exercise? I look forward to the day the PLAN has the confidence and capability to do these drills much further out in the Pacific, like near Micronesia or the Marshall Islands. Like for example if the naval commanders sitting in HQ in China can directa war on sea in real time I think it would be network centric warfare

No naval action is benign. Navies are notoriously deployed with mutiple agendas; always have been, always will be. China has two reasons for this action. One, it has as much interest in anti-piracy as anyone, if not more so. Two, China is determined to show that its ships are not restricted exclusively to brown-water coastal defence.
