Thread: Penny pinching trip

Started 2 weeks, 3 days ago by DaisytownNanc...
We have been to St John 4 times staying in different moderately priced villas. Our next trip is going to have to be an economy trip. I would still like a private rental, small is fine. Love Coral bay side. Under 1400 off season . Love places with large windows, great views and private. Any ideas. Nancy

How many of you are going? Need pool, hot tub, AC?

I would be interested in a place like that - but it must have two beds. It would only be for two people so small is ok. Thanks, Saffie

Anchorage Aweigh gets great reviews - it is offered through VRBO. Brand new villa and off season rates of $1399 per week. Only 1 BR though. Also, check out Sailview in CB.

Stairway to the stars in Coral Bay is a one bedroom open concept with a sofasleeper suitable for one additional person (3 total). 4 year old villa apartment with a stunning view of Coral Bay from a spacious deck. Enclosed attached outdoor shower also provides a wonderful view. 1000 per week. Mark

I think the view is the most important thing and a hot tub would be nice. Our last trip in May the pool was freezing so I think maybe we can skip that. Air can skip also. Nancy

We stayed at the Windwardside Guest Cottage in Coral Bay. The rates are very reasonable....it's very private and the views are amazing!! I loved it there. http://www.calabashcottages.com/wwsidegc.htm

Nancy, how many bedrooms do you need? Just Enough and New Moon are one bedroom villas in Coral Bay that look like they have nice views. They are $1000/off season; $1400/in season. Haven't seen either, but Just Enough has gotten some good reviews.

Might be interested in Just Enough cottage. The rates are great during low season, @ 100' up the side of MT in Coral Bay, w/ 2 wrap around decks on both levels and lots of windows/patio doors for views. check out VRBO #51729. Haven't been there yet, going next April but the pics are great.
