We will be arriving in Cozumel in December. We will be with Carnival Cruise line. Does anyone recomend Passion Island for an excursion? There will 4 adults and 2 kids ages 6 & 8. What all is there to do there? Or if you have any other suggests, I would appreciate your input. We really like to snorkel and we might also be interested in some type of ATV tour. Thanks!
We purchased our membership in July and were told it was included w/VIP membership. We got the Palace Premier and were told we could pay an $200 to get the conceirge level. After staying at the Cozumel Palace I am not sure it is worth it. Their service is so great and if the little extras that come with the that level are not a big deal I wouldn't do it. I may be worth it to upgrade at ...
I wanted to ask is it smart and safe to just get a taxi or book the airport transfers to and from the hotel and airport? We are staying at the Occidental Grand Cozumel and I don't know how far it is from the airport. If taxi is recommended, how much does it normally cost? We are going Sept 28 to Oct 3 and it will be our first time. Thanks in advance for your input!
You have to go pretty far off the airport to get a taxi...we stayed at the Occidental a couple weeks ago (had an amazing time!), we ended up taking a shared van to the hotel - and a cab back to the airport (we wanted to put off going to the airport as long as possible and not have to spend extra time on the way home dropping people off). The cab back to the airport was $20. We went into...
in front of AURA there is no a near reef for you to go dive, if you want to do some safer diving from shore ou should try Paradise reef. The currents are not that strong but you have to make sure to get back with air to the same spot so you dont have to swim back dragging all your gear.
I have also done some shore diving near chankanaab park and its fun too
Get the...
Actually, there's a GREAT REEF right there -- it's called Cardonna and it's shallow, usually no current, very interesting (there's a hidden "cave" full of glassy sweeper there in addition to all else), and you can spend a long time there.
Unfortunately, it's in the Marine Park, so you aren't allowed to dive it without a DM. Rumor has it that the hotel op uses Cardonna for ...
You could always dive Playa Las Casitas. It's just north of town and across from the naval barracks. There are lots of concrete structures from the old cruise ship pier and two sunken PT boats.
Max depth about 45' at the boats and 15-20' at the concrete.
The current is a recirculating eddie, so normally it goes from north to south. (opposite of normal)

Just make sure they take kids. One of the places suggested didn't take kids when I was looking a few years ago. I'm sure each unit must have their own rules.....just be aware.

http://www.cozumelkiteboarding.com This is Adrian's website. They teach classes on the North end if conditions are good in a great place for learning. Shallow water and a nice sandbar. We saw some kiting lessons here earlier this year: …google.com/NahHaCozumel/…5366849960620308194
I agree, with TX-Greg and mslf500 - 100%, both places would fit your families needs. El Cantil is closer to town, walking distance for things like groceries (across the street!) BUT Nah Ha does offer a little quieter area. Nice running space up there too. Honestly, either place, IMO would be perfect. Keep us posted on your progress for IM 2010!
Forget looking at weather forecasts, they have little relavance or reliability. We've had partially cloudy days which keep the mid 80s temperatures from going much past 90 degree heat index. We need to use the AC some at night to be comfortable for sleeping. Low temperatures in mid 70s mostly. A 30% chance of rain means that given the conditions three out of ten days might produce some rain, somewhere, for sometime, but seven days, there...
This via email from a friend: I'm searching for help to find Carl Blanchette an escort home on his flight to Grand Rapids, Michigan next Tues. He was in a bad moto accident, broke his arm, several ribs, and he is a mess of scrapes and surface injuries. He's in pain and weak. He is in his 80's. Thanks...if you can think of anyone or can think how to get him safely home. Note from me: I just received this info and hope he is...
yes pedro .. book in advance if it's a for sure thing - (weather permitting). They may have a group of folks on one day and zero on the next day and they would put you with the other group so there are enough to go out. If you're flexible you can call Rosie in the office that a.m. and ask if she's got any openings.. 869-2312
