Thread: Pap Smear... spotting?

Hello all, I went in last Wednesday for my first appt. and they gave me a pap smear.  My doctor said to expect a little bit of bleeding.  Well, I didn't have any that day or the next, but I had some Friday, Saturday, and today.  Is that normal?  It's turned from brown to pink, to brown again.  During my vistit, they did an ultrasound and found a heartbeat and everything looked great.  But I'm...

that sounds like a little much for a pap smear, but brown and pink spotting is pretty normal in the first trimester.  if you just saw the heartbeat, you are probably fine.  still, call and let them know tomorrow and see what they say.  they will probably tell you to rest and see if it lets up.

FYI, I went to the doctors today, and had prepared myself for the worst.  But thank goodness, everything is fine.  I am still spotting quite a bit but they said it was normal. What worried me was the change in color and that I've been spotting for 4 days. I guess I have a really sensitive cervix.  Whew! Relief BTW: I am 7 weeks pregnant

 I always spot after a pap and my OB told me that i should expect to spot for 3 to 5 days.  It sounds like you're right on track with that!

Yay for your sensitive cervix. Beware when you bd, you will probably have a surprise the next day (spotting).
