I have listened and watched this guy for years now.  I keep hearing that he is brilliant...  What am I missing? Where is this occurring? Is there any examples one can give me on this guy ?  As chairman of the House Financial Services Committee and the actions that occurred under TARP, Wall St, spending, etc.  I completely missed seeing any of this so called 'smarts'. Perhaps...

If you have the time, here's a few data points that have contributed to my view on Barney: Jon Stewart on Barney  Town Hall : http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-august-19-20 09/barney-frank-s-town-hall-snaps Barney starts at 1:24 min into the Video.  ON TARP, economy, and Henny Youngman (jheesh) http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-july-13-2009 /barney-frank-extended-...

I disagree with him on a lot of different issues, particularly economic ones. But I do think he's very intelligent and a very good politician....I mean managing to stay in office after all the ridiculous things he's been involved in is no small feat. I also appreciate his blunt honesty and think he's probably the funniest member of the House of Representatives. Watching him spar with ...

Barney was my Representative for more than 12 years, when I lived in Massachusetts. Surely, I have never voted for him, and disagreed with him on all things economical, but generally I had the impression of an intelligent man, very professional (whether being a very professional politician is a good thing is another matter), and with a sense of humor (not something you detect often in the Bay ...

Mr. Frank sits in a safe and jerrymandered district. That is why he can shovel our tax dollars to the ingrate bankers or just about anything he wants and still be reelected.  In congress, he has senority, giving political clout on the hill. He also holds deep ties to powerful liberal groups, which are more than happy to stuff his war chest with liquidity. Don't think he can't redirect it. That ...

Missourimule : Nov. 12, 2009 - 4:54 PM EST   Mass. will elect anything with a (D) after their name   Not so much Mass. as the affluent suburbs of Newton, Brookline, Dover, Wellesley - the hard core of his district...Massachusetts actually had 4 Republican governors in a row, until 2007, and the largest group in the state is not Democrats, but the Unenrolled (independents).

Missourimule : Nov. 12, 2009 - 4:54 PM EST   That sounds like as good an answer as anything - he knows where to find the money, whose needs to stroke (yuck)   I am sure you meant that in the most decent of  ways...  (no?)

Why does this thing always look like clothes that were left in the dryer drum for days after being dried. He always looks like he sleeps in whatever outfit he has on.  This might not be PC but i always thought they were more fashion conscious

Having such a Congressman is a shame for the Nation !
